December 23, 2020 - Blackwater Swamp

The weather was pretty good for late December so Mugsy and I decided to go flying.  Here, I'm looking east at Kent Narrows on my way to Cambridge.   The plane loves the cool weather.  My engine runs cool with CHTs in the low 300s and oil temp of 175.

Looking southwest across the Eastern Bay.

Looking northeast towards Easton.  Lots of rivers and creeks on the Eastern Shore.

That white dot in the Choptank River is a mass of birds.

Cambridge Airport is at center right.

Taking a closer look at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina.  It has the reputation of being a nice place to get away.

Overhead Cambridge Airport.  I haven't landed here in awhile.

On final for 16.  The runway looks like it has been repaved.

The on-field restaurant, Kays, is probably the best in the area.  But I've only been once this year, back in February, before the Chinese Virus.

Mugsy had arrived at Cambridge just before me.  We didn't even get out of our planes.  Soon we were heading south for some funfly.

Here we go!

Pretty from the air, no matter what time of year.

Mugsy had the lead and I was in loose trail.

You know the "Where's Waldo" books?  Today we're going to play "Where's Mugsy"?

This one is easy.

If you can't find Mugsy in this shot, you might want to go to the eye doctor.

Nice house in a very remote spot.  It's probably a two hour drive to the nearest Wal-Mart!  Maybe an hour to a Dollar General.

Hunting for Sika Deer.

Solitude.

Sun glinting off the wings.

After stopping at St. Mary's Airport for gas -- lowest in the area -- we split up and headed for home.   Fun flight.
